Counseling. KTC’s counseling staff offers individual counseling as well as group and family sessions to help alumni constructively address emotional and social issues and the challenges posed by their environments. KTC’s counseling team also offers wellness and prevention focused workshops and hosts speakers on a wide range of issues from peer relationships to health issues. To augment their services, KTC’s counselors build partnerships with external organizations capable of providing deeper support to alumni.
Outreach and Special Enrichment Activities. Enrichment activities provide KIPP NYC alumni with opportunities for productive, enjoyable, and broadening experiences and serve as an important outreach tool for fostering relationships between alumni and KTC staff. Events include sports and safe-haven activities, and field trips to parks, sporting events and cultural sites in the New York City area. KTC also hosts special annual events including a summer barbecue, a Thanksgiving dinner, an ice skating party, and celebratory dinners for alumni who have graduated from high school and college.
